JC FUNCTIONAL FITNESS

Discover your fitness potential

We all move and breathe, but do we all do it as well as we can?  Our bodies are adaptation machines, conforming to our daily activities.  Although not all adaptations are beneficial. A large portion of the population now spend the majority of their time in a seated, back rounded head forward position.  All while breathing short shallow chest breaths. Incomplete movement patterns have hidden our natural movement potential.  The accumulation of stress in our daily lives has locked some in a fight or flight negative feedback loop.  Joints ache less when properly positioned and strengthened, sleep and digestion can improve just through various breathing techniques.  Together we can uncover the hidden potential in your body.

Helping people

My fitness journey began out of necessity.  During my time as a professional tennis instructor I developed hypertension.  It was my wake up call.  I dove head first into regaining my health and fitness.  All of this has lead to me becoming the functional coach I am today.  Through this journey, I've realized my calling.  That calling is to help people realize their full potential in movement and health.

I hold certifications in:

Mobility Coaching

Wellness and health advice

IT ALL STARTS FROM THE GROUND UP

The human foot consists of 26 bones, 33 joints, 107 ligaments, and 19 muscles.  How we use this anatomy to connect with the ground is important.  Most shoes on the market inhibit the natural ability of the foot.  Our feet were designed to feel, move and adjust to the ground.  Which is made very difficult to do with tight cushiony shoes.  This is why I am an advocate of barefoot or minimalist shoes.  Click the image for an interesting read and a great place to start with your barefoot shoes journey.
